Abstract

The propagation of microwave shear bulk waves excited from the XY surface of a Z-cut LiNbO3 crystal by an interdigital transducer has been studied. Results of dark-field visualization of acoustic wavefronts are presented. It is shown that the drift angle of the shear acoustic wave at a frequency of 1 GHz is 6.62+0,5°. A theoretical justification of the obtained results and their comparison with experiment are discussed. The findings can be applied in the design of microwave devices.
