Abstract

The possibility of effective application of fuzzy logic methods in digital image coding and compression tasks is investigated. A new approach is presented that employs discrete cosine transforms and Haar coefficients as a feature space. The efficiency of the proposed method is experimentally demonstrated in comparison with rigid classification algorithms that do not use fuzzy logic principles.
