Using the power supply network for building information systems
Abstract
The current state and prospects of creating information systems based on the power supply network are considered. The specific features of the power supply network that complicate system development are described. Technologies for building such systems that have been developed and applied are outlined. It is noted that modems are industrially manufactured and used to create systems for electricity metering in apartment buildings, as well as local computer networks with data transfer rates up to 1 Mbit/s over distances of up to 200 m. Experimental results are presented, showing the possibility of achieving data transfer rates up to 45 Mbit/s in the power supply network over short distances.
