Abstract
This paper explores the development of a knowledge base using the heuristic classification method for diagnosing electronic equipment, where the hierarchical classification of symptoms and hypotheses is inherently imprecise and ambiguous. The approach is illustrated through troubleshooting electronic-dialing telephones, with the knowledge base implemented in CLIPS.
