Abstract

Methods for the selection and sorting of diamonds according to electrophysical properties using modern physical analysis techniques have been developed, along with technologies for precision laser cutting of diamonds and their processing based on thermochemical reactions in a gaseous medium. An experimental setup has been created for polishing and grinding diamond plates, a setup for cutting, and a setup for plasma-chemical processing. Methodologies have been developed for measuring the surface roughness of processed plates and for controlling roughness parameters. Some experimental results are presented.
