Abstract
A formula has been derived that relates the resistance of a photoresistor, onto whose light‑sensitive area a beam falls, to the diameter of this beam, provided the beam diameter is smaller than the dimensions of the light‑sensitive area. Using this formula, the beam diameter can be calculated by substituting the measured resistance value.
