Thermoelectric air-conditioning system based on permeable thermoelements
Abstract
The thermostatic unit of a thermoelectric air conditioner based on permeable cooling thermoelements is considered, in which thermoelectric effects and the Joule–Thomson effect are used to cool the airflow. A method is described for calculating the temperature distribution, determining the energy characteristics of energy conversion, and designing a permeable thermoelement in the mode of maximum coefficient of performance. The results of computer studies of the proposed systems, in the case of using solid solutions based on Bi₂Te₃ as the material of the thermoelement branches, demonstrated the possibility of increasing the coefficient of performance by 1.6–1.7 times compared with traditional thermoelectric systems.
