Features of calculating discrete microwave phase shifters with switchable channels

Abstract

Problems arising in the design of through‑type discrete microwave phase shifters with switchable channels are considered. These problems are related to the choice of the type of switching elements and their connection scheme, to the calculation of beam switches, to the selection of implementation methods and to the calculation of signal phase‑delay channels, as well as to the limitation of the operating frequency band due to resonances of closed switch outputs. Solutions to these problems are proposed. The possibility of applying the proposed approaches is demonstrated by the example of designing and modeling a phase shifter based on high‑temperature superconducting films.
