Ultrasonic piezoelectric transducer
Abstract
An ultrasonic acoustic transducer is proposed for generating acoustic pulses in measuring instruments. It consists of two piezoelectric plates, 1.8 cm in diameter, bonded together with opposite polarity. The bimorph plate bends alternately in opposite directions with an amplitude much greater than that of a single plate, thereby producing acoustic oscillations of significant amplitude in air. The piezoceramic transducer operates at a frequency of 25 kHz, which ensures relatively low signal attenuation during surface probing. At a distance of 20 m, the measurement error is approximately 44 mm.
