Instrument "Region" for the space experiment "Ring" on board the ISS
Abstract
The paper describes an instrument for measuring the time of flight of ions from the injector to the detector during the active space experiment "Ring" in the Earth's ionosphere. The instrument is installed on board the ISS at a certain distance from the pulsed ion injector. Its operation is based on registering pulses of injected ions that reach the detector and measuring their parameters: amplitude, duration, and delay time relative to the injector launch moment. Measuring the ion flight time makes it possible to obtain information about the parameters of the Earth's magnetic field along the ISS orbit.
