Thermoelectric properties of alloys in the TlInTe2–TlYbTe2 system
Abstract
This work is devoted to the study of the thermoelectric properties of TlIn1-xYbxTe2 solid solutions, where 0≤x≤0.11. It was found that with increasing ytterbium content in the solid solutions, electrical conductivity rises sharply while thermal conductivity decreases. As a result, thermoelectric efficiency improves, and in certain compositions at temperatures of 500–1000 K reaches values of practical interest for use as the p-branch of thermocouples in thermogenerators.
