Abstract

An analysis of known operating modes of a cooling thermoelement is presented. The possibilities of a criteria-based approach as a method for finding intermediate (compromise) operating modes in the design of thermoelectric cooling devices (TECDs) are described. Relations for determining such modes have been obtained. The possibility of rapid evaluation of the main characteristics of a TECD for any chosen mode is demonstrated. Recommendations are given for defining the rational domain of application of different operating modes of TECDs.
